MARIE POE is the producer and director of SlapHillary.org.
She is an award-winning filmmaker, television producer and director, with many hit shows to her credit.

Marie has produced and directed animation and special effects for Sesame Street and Saturday Night Live, and has produced and consulted for Nickelodeon, HBO, Cartoon Network, and Children’s Television Workshop on numerous animated shows, including Happily Ever After, KABLAM! and more.
Marie was animation producer for the premier season of Beavis & Butthead, MTV’s hit animated series. In that capacity, she helped pioneer the use of digital ink-and-paint technology, completing 120 minutes of animation — 29 shows — in a record five-and-a-half months.
“This was incredibly speedy… given the fact that a :30 spot has an average schedule of eight to 10 weeks,” noted Marie’s supervisor for the project, J.J. Sedelmaier, in the July 16, 1993 edition of Backstage Shoot.

Sedelmaier later commented that producing Beavis & Butthead with digital technology “was my idea in theory… based on specific hardware and software developed by U.S. Animations”. However, Sedelmaier credits Marie with working out the nuts and bolts. Sedelmaier recalls that it was, “Marie who dealt with U.S. Animations and worked out the actual specific plan. … I understood the theory, but at a certain point very soon thereafter, I was left in the dust…”
Marie was also animation producer for Cartoon Network’s Big Bag, a critically-acclaimed pre-school series which featured Chelli, the last Muppet character ever created by the Jim Henson Workshop.
Chicken from Outer Space, for which Marie served as Pre-Production Supervisor, was nominated for an Academy Award for best animated short in 1995.
Marie graduated with a B.F.A. in Film from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1985.
Her student film Peace — which blended animation and live action — won several awards and was shown theatrically at the Paris Theater in Manhattan.
Marie lives with her husband Richard Lawrence Poe in New York City.
